Brian A. Watson, Borough of Phoenixville Public Works Director, announced today that the Borough’s semi-annual flushing of fire hydrants in the water system will begin on Monday, April 5, 2021 and continue for five weeks. “The flushing program will begin in that portion of the Borough north of French Creek from Fillmore Street south to Bridge Street”, Watson said. Flushing is scheduled to continue for five weeks in a southerly direction across town. “We are scheduling the flushing between 9 A.M. and 2 P.M. in an effort to minimize the inconvenience to users of the system”, he stated.
Watson explained that the flushing of the water distribution system twice a year was an integral part of an overall maintenance program. “Flushing of fire hydrants may cause cloudiness with your tap water and we ask for your patience, as this condition is only temporary”, he said.
